Mainz Food and Wine Tour: a taste of Germany’s wine capital

Colourful buildings at the Marktplatz, Mainz

Back in October, I was invited on a wine tour of the Nahe and Rheinhessen regions by the local wine tour company Bottlestops. I had such a wonderful day with them exploring two of Germany’s lesser travelled wine regions, eating lunch in the vineyards and being introduced some excellent regional wines that I am now collaborating with founder Jérôme Hainz to offer a food and wine tour of Germany’s wine capital. Introducing the Mainz Food and Wine Tour!

Mainz Food and Wine Tour

German wine expert (and Mainzer) Jérôme and I will lead a three-hour tour of Mainz, starting with a tasting of some of Jérôme’s favourite regional wines in his private cellar. We’ll then go on to explore the medieval old town of Mainz by foot, learning about the local food and wine history, culture and traditions, and tasting a variety of local food specialties along the way. The first tour will take place at 14:00 on Saturday 10 March 2018 and cost 55€ for the three-hour tour including food and wine tastings, and you can book easily using the form below. I’d be very excited to have you with us!
