My first Mainz food and wine tour with Jérôme Hainz of Bottlestops took place on March 10, and I don’t think either of us could have been happier with how it went. We had a really enthusiastic group of food lovers keen to learn a bit about Mainz’s history through the lens of its wine and culinary specialties, and despite the grey, drizzly weather, we had an awful lot of fun.
We loved the relaxed pace of the tour. We also loved all the suggestions of places we could visit on our own and of course the delicious new wines!
Lots of good information about Mainz, as well as wine and food – what more could one want?
I liked how relaxed and comfortable Jerome and Christie made everybody feel.

Mainz Food and Wine Tour
German wine expert (and Mainzer) Jérôme and I offer a three-hour tour of Mainz, starting with a tasting of some of Jérôme’s favourite regional wines in his private cellar. We then go on to explore the medieval old town of Mainz by foot, learning about the local food and wine history, culture and traditions, and tasting a variety of local culinary specialties along the way.
The next tour will take place at 14:00 on Saturday 12 May 2018 and cost 55€ for the three-hour tour including food and wine tastings. You can book easily using the form on the Bottlestops website – we’d be very excited to have you with us!
